When the father of one of the kidnappers swears revenge, and takes Bryan and his wife hostage during their family vacation in Istanbul, Bryan enlists Kim to help them escape, and uses the same advanced level of special forces tactics to get his family to safety and systematically take out the kidnappers one by one. Liam Neeson returns as Bryan Mills, the retired CIA agent with a particular set of skills who stopped at nothing to save his daughter Kim from Albanian kidnappers. Here’s the official synopsis for Taken 2: The film also stars Famke Janssen and Maggie Grace. Though it does have some thrilling sequences and another exceptional performance by Liam Neeson. All in all, Taken 2 looks to be a damn good time. Taken 2 is an unnecessary sequel to a perfectly fine movie. It’d be nice to see his character wrestle with the consequences of his murderous streak, but I’m sure we’ll see plenty of badassness from Neeson as well. At a beefy 6-foot-4, Neeson certainly looks physically imposing, but it was the notion of casting someone who can actually act in an action hero role that was the counter-intuitive concept that made both films - Taken 2 is more a remake than a sequel - so successful. I like the idea of escalation and the endless circle of violence being explored in the follow-up, with Rade Serbedzija’s villain character telling Neeson that if he kills him, Neeson will just have more people after him that he’ll have to kill too. ‘Taken 2’ International Trailer: Liam Neeson Turns the Title Into a Tagline Posted on Thursday, June 21st, 2012 by Russ Fischer Your mother is going to be Taken. The story finds Neeson’s character as the target of revenge, as the family members of all those people he so swiftly murdered in the first pic are out for blood. Intellectual properties like Die Hard, 24 and the Tom Clancy films have all had similar plots as the Taken films but they were much more successful at creating suspense because the rotagonists and their family members were always close to dying or being seriously injured.Regardless, let’s just hope for the sake of the future of Albania that Bryan Mills’ family is now left well enough alone. The first theatrical U.S. That’s the biggest flaw in Taken 2: it seems as if Bryan and his family are immortal. Yes, Taken 2 made me feel sad for cutthroat killers and kidnappers. Moreover, the film features a ridiculously unbelievable chase sequence where Bryan and his daughter crash into the US Embassy in a stolen taxi without any major injuries. In fact, at some point I started to feel sorry for the Albanians who were dropping like flies. Although the body count in Taken 2 is certainly quite high, the action sequences aren’t particularly exciting nor are they inventive as Bryan effortlessly kills almost every Albanian baddie in Europe.
